Men's Handicap Open - Gus McVey Memorial Trophy Rules

1) The Tournament will be open to all amateur golfers with handicap indexes of 3.5 to 18.0 who are members of recognised affiliated golf clubs. Players with handicap indexes of over 18 may enter, but the maximum handicap index allowed will be 18.0.

2) The Tournament will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf, as approved by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, and in accordance with Local Rules. It is expected that all competitors will conform to all Rules and Regulations currently in force.

3) Online entry will open on Monday 1st December 2025, and payment will be required at the time of booking a time. The entry fee is £40, including £10 food and beverage voucher.

4) ONE round of the Course will be played, with play commencing at approximately 7.00am.

5) There will be seven Handicap Prizes and one Scratch Prize. Competitors may win only ONE prize HANDICAP: 1st £300.00; 2nd £200.00; 3rd £150.00; 4th £120.00; 5th £ 100.00; 6th £80.00; 7th £70.00; SCRATCH: 1st £ 80.00;

6) A PRIZE GIVING WILL NOT BE HELD ON THE DAY. 

7) In the event of a tie, positions will be decided on the best inward half; the best last 6; the best last 3 and thereafter by such method as the Tournament Committee decide. Committee's decision shall be final.

8) Meals may be booked in the Clubhouse prior to play.

9) Caddies are not permitted, buggies available only with medical certificates.

10) Refunds up to 72hrs before the event.
